Today our post is about vegetable oils and the long process from the first cold pressing to the final packaging makes it difficult to distinguish the quality of one from another. When you buy a cosmetic you are buying a package and a brand, but how do you know that its ingredients are good?
Nowadays it is very difficult to choose a good supplier, as oils vary a lot from one another. Choosing small producers is a good start, as it ensures that you have more control and direct dealings with them.
Refined or unrefined oil?
Organic oils, on the other hand, retain their purity, keeping their natural qualities, colour and aroma, like the one in the picture. The difference between using one and the other is incredible!
When buying organic oils from a small producer, the colour and aroma can always vary slightly because they do not undergo the refining process, which means that they retain their maximum quality - natural is never identical!
At Notas de Mar we use organic, unrefined vegetable oils, because we know that the secret ingredient is always the oil.
Where do we include avocado oil?
Avocado oil is one of our base oils in the day blend, its high concentration of carotenoids provides natural protection against ultraviolet rays. You can buy our day blends both in markets and in the centres where we offer workshops.
Avocado oil is also one of the main ingredients of our oleogel, as it accelerates the saponification process. You can find the oleogel in the on-site workshops.
